Shop Pics
Here are some pictures of my shop, inside and out. Click the pictures for a larger view.
It looks cluttered from out here, but that's only because it is. Come on in!

This is (obviously) the outside of my shop. The door opening is 16' wide x 11' high.
The shop building was here, when we bought the place, but oddly enough, not mentioned in the listing. Well walking around the property with the agent, and coming upon this building, he remarked "I wonder who this belongs to." Needless to say, it became a big selling point for me. The size is 24' x 36' with 11' ceiling, and it's all woodworking. No cars in here... |
This is the view back outside, from where we just came.
I love having the doors open on sunny days. We have a little over two acres here, and it's all wooded, with mostly
150 foot tall firs and, of course, some Madrona. Lots of wildlife around, also. Birds, squirrels and the
occasional deer. |

This is the largest lumber rack. I've been working off of it since I bought it at auction, about 25 years ago.
I bought this, and more, for 80 bucks at an auction of a closed cabinet shop. I've added some, but used so much more. It contains birch plywood, hardwoods and fir ply as well as some pine. |
This is the small lumber rack, and of course, a lot of crap.
I started storing hardwoods and softwoods on here when my son-in-law, Kelvin Solsberry, was able to give me oak and finished fir pieces that were deemed scrap, from the job he had at the time. Boy, I wish he still worked there... On the upper right shelf, you can see a brand new, ceiling hung, gas furnace. All I gotta do is run the line out to the shop. Oh, Kellllvinnnnn...

This is the smallest lumber storage area, hanging on the wall.
I had to put this together to store the lumber given to me from a yard sale.
While at the sale, I noticed a couple piles of lumber sitting away from all the other stuff. I asked the guy what he wanted for it. He said, "Just get it the hell out of here." It contains mostly teak and small pieces of exotic hardwoods. There is actually more of it stored under tables and benches in the shop, as well as out under the overhang. I did give him some money for it, and made two return trips to get it all. Sometimes, all ya' gotta do, is ask... |
This is the "center", literally and spiritually, of my shop.
This is definitely NOT a Neanderthal shop, and I have no bad feelings about that. If there is a fast, easy way to do the job, I'm there! The plate on the front of the cabinet says Delta made this just for me...aw, gosh fellas, ya' shouldn't have.
